As writers, we need to be able to describe the world around us. Thankfully we have some little wonders to help us: adjectives.

Let’s see what I mean. How does this sentence sound?
“I love it when those silver, professional-looking, big, three coffee machines whirr into action when I walk in.”
Clunky and confusing huh? How about this instead:
“I love it when those three, big, professional-looking, silver coffee machines whirr into action when I walk in.”
What witchcraft is this that turns a clunky list into a compelling description!? It’s actually really simple.
